100% right, mostly.There isn't any universal single list of RFCs that define DNS. But in the scope of contacted work, there is a single list that matters. ;)
RFCs don't matter in the real world, RFPs and contracts do. The latter documents will cherry pick the RFCs they want to include in the delivery. This is why I want to make sure we clean up the frayed edges of the RR type registry. (Spurred mostly be the ATMA document too.)
