My recommended use of rsync is to replicate complete _servers_. This has
a simple meaning: the servers respond identically to every query.

What you're trying to do is replicate separate _zones_. This is a much
more complicated concept. Contrary to your previous claims, it does
_not_ mean that the servers respond identically to every query in the
zone; I explained in a previous message why that can't be true.
