I have created a new mailing list to discuss proposals for DNS server MIB(s)
for interested parties. Anyone can subscribe
mailto://dnsext-mib-request@lists.tislabs.com
The draft charter for the mailing list is
----------------
This is a mailing list charted by the IETF DNSEXT working group to allow
interested parties to discuss in an un moderated forum the case for
defining MIB or MIBs for DNS servers.
The goal is to develop proposals for DNS MIB(s) to present to the
DNSEXT working group. The current agenda is:
0. Revise the charter to reflect group consensus.
1. Develop a statement of
"The case for SNMPv3 MIB support in DNS servers"
2. Define a set of MIBs to work define and specify what
functionality will not be supported.
2.5. Define how vendor specific MIB's can extend the MIB framework.
3. Develop guidelines on how to use SNMPv3 USM and VACM to
do access control in the MIB's.
The restrictions on proposals are:
1. Implementation independent.
2. SNMPv3 is used for access control.
3. Simple and extensible.
The list archive can be found at ftp://ftp.tislabs.com/pub/lists/dnsext-mib
to unsubscribe send a message to namedroppers-request@ops.ietf.org with
