I would object to draft-ietf-ids-dnsnames only if it somehow impaired
the eventual success of DNS SRV RR's (or practical use of WKS RR's).
I'd really like to see DNS SRV (or even slightly enhanced WKS') become a
full RFC as soon as logically possible, and if it really does work out
in practice that it be put on track to become part of an STD series too.
In the mean time it seems most folks are indeed using dnsnames, and it
seems like it would be a good idea to make one interpretation BCP to
avoid any current confusion as best as possible.
