Directories (Was: About the creation of 3...)

I have two well worn phone books, personal address book, business card file,
Post-Its, desk blotter with phone numbers.... I remember 5 or 6 phone #'s
without looking them up.  I also call Directory Assistance with alarming
frequency. All this for a system that I know... what will Mom and Pop USA
do when faced with the tremendous array of services/providers/nodes in The
Brave New Internet of the Future? Why *should* they have to work at using
the system? That's what the machines are for... to do the grunt work.

Maybe if I could forget some of these #'s/path names/... I could remember
my weddding anniversary :) (It is in my Calendar... it pops up, the phone
rings...poof.... gone again.)
