Re: one-letter domains




It occurs to me that relatively minor software modifications for root
nameservers might do a better job than the single letter names can.
Expand the syntax of records a little bit so that something like:

a*.com		IN	NS	ns-a.com-nic.net

...would work.  The only changes required would be to root servers,
not normal site ones, and it shouldn't be that hard to code.  
Are there any problems with this sort of delegation people can
think of?  Has this been discussed before and shot down?
